| POROUS PLASTIC FILTER CARTRIDGE, RODS, SHEETS, DISC OF DIFFERENT SIZES – POLYPOR TM |
| |
 |
 |
 |
| |
POLYPORTM - Porous Plastic Filter Material of Polypropylene, PTFE, HDPE, Cellulose Acetate, and Polystyrene ranges from 5 to 250 microns. Form of rods, hollow pipes, sheets and joined parts of porous with a non-porous plastic and can be moulded as per your drawing and dimension |
| |
Material: POLYPORTM makes its porous plastics from many thermo-plastic polymers including: Polypropylene (FGX), Polyethylene (DMF), Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVF), Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Styrene Acrylo Nitrite (SAN), Polyurethane (PUR), Polytetrafluoroethylene (TFE), Polystyrene (PTR), and Cellulose Acetate (CAB). |
| |
Availability: Porous POLYPORTM are available in a multitude of configurations to meet your own design requirements. These include Sheets, Rods, Discs, Hollow Candles, Threaded Adaptors, Tubes etc. (open ended or fitted with caps flanges, threaded adaptors, Cones, Hoppers etc.) Sheet can be reinforced by mean of a perforated metal sheet, which has a negligible effect on pressure drop. |
| |
Applications:
Porous POLYPORTM plastics are used throughout industry, medicine and home; for applications ranging from noise reduction to air, water and chemical filtration; from marker pen tips to automotive battery safety vents; from surgical implants to clinical laboratory filters |

Cleaning
POLYPORTM slightly soiled can be cleaned with household soaps, grease or oils may be removed by solvents methylene chloride. For organic materials and microbiological organism, submerse the porous POLYPORTM in a 50% to 75% solution of hydrochloric acid in water in a vertical section of PVC pipe and leave overnight. Rinse the porous POLYPORTM thoroughly with water and allow to dry. |
| |
Permeability and Flow resistance depend on pore size, product density, product thickness and the filter finesse, Air/Water flow charts were generated by conducting flow test on porous POLYPORTM discs ranging from 1/8" to 1 /2" thick, 20 to 100 microns mean pore size and 40 to 50% void volume. The void volume of porous POLYPORTM varies from 35 to 65%. An increase in void volume will result in a higher flow at the same pressure and mean pore size back pressure and flow rates are essentially proportional to material thickness. Because other factors, such as surface characteristics and pore size distribution can also affect permeability, the flow charts should only be used for general information which may be useful as a starting point for determining the appropriate grade for your use. |
| |
| In order to calculate the new value, use the equation: |
| Desired Thickness |
| ------------------------ X PSI Value of Original Thickness = PSI of Desired Thickness |
| Original Thickness
|
 |
Gases escape through porous elements made from POLYPORTM. This prevents build-up of dangerous excess pressure. |
